TO:
NASA ADMINISTRATION and
WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
Dear fellow citizen,
I encourage you to take a moment to reflect on the growth of our nation. In our short history we have developed into a world leader. With this leadership comes great responsibility. The United States of America offers hope worldwide. We dedicate many resources to feeding the hungry, thwarting terrorism and developing technologies to benefit the human race.
In the cycle of a nations growth we must accept change and respect the unknown. What we have learned is that feeding the youth with both food and technology will bring us to a sustainable balance. Without these elements the race we call human will not have the necessary tools to move forward.
It is my belief that every child in the world should not only have a nutritious meal but also have every opportunity to learn what it will take to keep our planet alive and thriving. STEM education is one of the tools that should be in their pencil box.
I am fond of what NASA has accomplished in the race to the moon and the Space Shuttle program. This type of energy and enthusiasm must be generated in our youth. It is imperative that we encourage citizens, with the passion and drive, to help educate our young people.
In 1961 a young man named John F. Kennedy appointed me as the worldwide director of the Food for Peace program. At the same time, President Kennedy began a dramatic expansion of the U.S. space program and committed the nation to the ambitious goal of landing a man on the moon by the end of the decade. His mission was accomplished because he was the product of a child given all the educational resources available.
President Obama has called upon us to ...out educate and out engineer other nations. I find it more important than ever before to make use of all of the resources this country has to offer. We need to educate our youth in the areas of Food Nutrition, Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
Mr. Mitch Hall is prepared to inspire young children to pursue careers that they may have otherwise thought were out of reach. The Generation-S STEM education program proposed can make a difference even if only in a few lives.
The youth are our future and we need to feed them with knowledge. Mr. Hall and the ambitious projects such as he is proposing are what it is going to take for our great country to prosper. Please consider my endorsement of the Generation-S project.
